Wow ~  Its May 2022

So many things have changed.  I'm a new person, I've learned to be Happy again. After losing Arthur and my Mum ~ 

Life brings so many ups and downs.

March of 2020 we went into Covid lockdown, I was working from home, and then just when it was starting to lift and we could get out more,  My home town of Happy Camp, Ca had a Wild fire the 8th of September 2020 we had to evacuate for 13 days.  The fire called the Slater Fire burned 200 home's and just devastated our community.  We became stronger for it and we were there for each other to get through this tragic fire.  It changed so many lives and people had to move away, lots of our old timers and Elders that built their lives here,  everything was gone, many of them never to return.  Its been two years since the fire and people are starting to rebuild. 

2021 was quite uneventful, kind of a Numb year and just getting through Covid restrictions.  Not much happened.

I did start seeing someone and it was time to allow someone to be in my life again.  We are taking it one day at a time.  Seeing where our lives together will take us.  No expectations.  At this age I'm just happy to be happy ~ Smile~

2022 we are seeing Covid restrictions lifted and not wearing masks and just being able to gather and see family and friends again.  A slow return to life and its Joy's that it brings to be out and about and making memories with those we Love,  if anything Covid has showed us what is really important to us and how we wish to live our lives, and that is with those we love,  not working so much and not taking time to enjoy each other and the people and places we have around us. Enjoying Life like we should be ~

A Quilting Retreat I Will Go ~

I'm sooo excited ~smile~

I'll be going on my first Quilting Retreat this March, in Loleta, Ca.
Gina is going with me, I'm bringing projects that I have had for years and that I can get done.
So I'm doing quite a bit of prep getting my blocks ready so all I have to do is Sew and Sew.

It's going to be nice to go to the coast and be somewhere new and different. I've never been to Loleta before, its close to Ferndale,Ca.

I'll post photo's as I go.  I have so much I've bought through the years that I don't need to buy more.  So I'm digging into my stash and going from there.

I'm sooo excited... have I said that yet ~smile~

Its been quite a long time~

Quite a bit has happened in the 4 yrs since I've written on here.
I lost my Mum to Ovarian Cancer in September of 2014. And then not so long after my Dear Husband Died of Liver Cancer. March 9th 2016 he passed.
Not to say that there have been changes in my life.  The two people that were the closest to me are gone.  But not gone ~smile~ I feel them with me everyday.
So I'm going to do my best to be more present and do things that give me JOY.
I have a wonderful Job and I'm doing my best to get back to enjoying life again.

Its been raining today, at a steady pace :)
I'm finding that its making me lazy ~smile~  Arthur and I have been napping in our chairs.  Its a comforting feeling hearing the gentle snoring of your love. And then him giggling because he hears you snorting... waking yourself up LOL... ~smile~
Its those simple things in life that I adore ~
Yes its been raining today... It relaxes me , Makes me feel safe in a hug , Yes its been raining today ~

Tempus Fygit ~

Tempus Fygit... Time Flys  :)

I'm finding that I have all these plans to do all these things and not enough time in the day to do them :)
So I'm going to do my best to go with the flow and see what happens
Maybe just say this is my plan today... I want to put more flowers and herbs in the Garden this year, I'm finding that it is getting better year after year ~smile~  and that makes me very happy.
I'd like to have a small garden party , with a few close friends this year <3 p="">To finish a Quilt this year, and maybe give the one I've been making to my brother Mike to him , I think he is ready to have it and not give it away LOL
To have more time to enjoy life and not work, work, work...
I guess you can say I'd like to enjoy my surroundings and not be so consumed by the day in and outs of Working going to bed , Working... you know that Week that seems to just repeat its self  ;/
I'm also going to de-clutter my life , not just things but everything
I do hope to use this blog more often.... I think by making it a homepage I will see it and use it more :)
We'll see how this fly's for life is way to short not to enjoy every minute of it, so that's my plan~

Block # 1 ..... Remember me Block

So here is the first Block from the Civil War Quilt....
It is called :   Remember Me
I will say that this is the first time that I have done a Quilt ( Kaye England way ) Where you don't use pins and you don't Iron... I will say it was quite easy and nice .... Learning new things ~smile~

So here is the block pieced out ~smile~  and ready to sew....

Here is the block sewn together... I will say that, That Purple Thang... is my new favorite tool ~smile~

Also Kaye England uses a cheater patch... its something you use to keep your needle down and that way you don't have to keep cutting and having those long threads ~

Okay... only one block on the wall now ~smile~

Here is my fist block , the .... Remember Me Block.....

it was used so you could write a name of someone to remember in the middle ~

A Quilting I will Go ~

I've started a Quilt from a class I joined on Craftsy.com... ~smile~
Its Called :    Re-Piecing the Past    A Civil War Quilt by Kaye England
I'm so enjoying it...
So Here is a few photo's of my Sewing room ... I do still need to clean it up some ... I did have blocks from another Quilt I was working on called a : Victory Quilt... its from World War II ...
The blocks to come are Applique and I'm not to good at that yet...~smile~
So I will finish that another day ~
So here is My Sewing Room :

Blocks on the wall are from the Victory Quilts by Eleanor Burns... its a beautiful Quilt .. I just have to get my nerve up to Applique....~smile~

As you can see ... I do still need to get somethings put away... or at least find more places to put things... I love my home , but there isn't much Storage options...

I do get to look out at the back yard and at all the birds ~smile~ and my flowers and veggies ...

Making Orange Marmalade

Making Orange Marmalade today ~smile~ 
Its a 3 day process.... and its fun
I have gotten a few more days off at work with the slower time of year... So I'm making the best of it and cleaning and getting organized , and also making some yummy things
So here is a few photo's of the first day...

Day #1

Then you cover them with water and cover them with a tight lid and leave them over night ~

Day # 2

You heat up the lemon's and cook them or about 2 1/2 or 3 hrs ..... then put them to drain over nite.
Then heat up and cook the Oranges for an hour and then cover them tight to sit over night ~smile~

Day #3

Then you mix the Lemon mixer with sugar and the orange's and more Lemon Juice and cook it until its to the Jelly point....~   Then you put them in Jars and sterilize and your done ~smile~

Married One year Now ~smile~

Hi , Arthur and I will be Celebrating our 1 year Wedding Aniversary this Monday ~smile~
It sure doesn't seem like we have been together for almost 8 years now ~  Getting Married felt like just another day in our lives, only we got to have a big party with our Family and Friends ~ So the first year is Paper... so we are getting each other cards and lottery tickets...~smile~  Hope we win !!!

I have been doing a eating plan and I have lost 20 lbs...Arthur said when I lost 20 lbs he would quit smoking... so he is on his way to doing that ~smile~  I have also started Hula Hooping... and its so much fun ~  When I lose 10 more lbs I'm going to get a new Hula Hoop and it will glow in the dark, its going to be so much fun ~ LOL

Robyn and Aaden will be here this next weekend... it will be nice to see them both... I have missed the Bubba and Robyn E got a new car... can't wait to see what it looks like ~smile~

Spring is here ~smile~

Well its been raining and raining .... ~ I guess it will make for some pretty flowers this spring and summer... and we can sure use it since we haven't had any snow or rain this Winter ~
We sure are loving our new home... its so nice to have room to move ~smile~ and to be able to stand up in the bedroom to make the bed. Having a woodstove is very nice also... that way when the electric goes out it doesn't get cold...
Kayla was here for a visit last Wednesday and Thrusday with her friend Matt .. he is really a nice guy and he adore's her...
I'm also planning a trip to England this Fall in November ~smile~ its about time... I'm very excited about going ~ and scared at the same time, I've never flown before. I will look at it as an adventure ~
Well I do hope to post more and keep up todate... it's not like I have alot of followers but its fun to write things down ~

Everything is Good when its FALL ~smile~

Hello Everyone.... Well I haven't been on here much and Now that it is Fall , I'm getting excited ~smile~   It means more time to enjoy cooking that warm fun food .. ie Comfort Food... and getting ready for the holidays... that we all know that I love so much... I'm going to be getting the Rv ready , putting all my Quilting stuff in there and making it ready for guests...
Also I'm moving things around the house and making it more Homey... I know as if it isnt' all ready ~smile~
So I'm going to be on here and making post more often ... getting it updated...

Happy New Year ~

Well its a New Year and I'm starting it in Happy Camp, Calif ~smile~ Its been a nice change , only having all my things and clothes and stuff in Storage is a bit different for me and you all that know me know how I like my Stuff ~smile~ LOL.

The Girls are doing well , Both in college and Happy... Only it was a bit different this Christmas with only Arthur and Don... I don't know about this Empty Nesting thing yet... at times its great and at others its very lonely...

I do know that I am having alot of time to catch up with my Family Genealogy Stuff and posting all the pic's from 1800's and getting all Organized... I've also been working out everyday, except weekends... lets see how long that last's...LOL..

Well I sure do love all of you and I'm so Thankful to have you all in my life...

Fall's here and I'm so "Happy" ~

Well sorry I know its been a long time since I've written a post ~ But I'm here I'm finally a Happy Camper... It has been an adjustment for me but its coming along... ~smile~

Kayla is closer to me now she is going to School at SOU in Ashland, Oregon and Robyn Elaine and Aaden Hunter are still in Bend, Oregon... I do miss them all very much... I do feel now that I am really an Emtpy Nester now...~

Kayla was here a few weeks ago and we made the best "Blackberry Jam"... I need to go and pick more berrys before the Bears eat them all and make some more~

Well I have time now to keep up with my post's ... I'll just have to change my heading now that I'm not traveling back and forth anymore...~

It's Winter ~ Right ?

Wow.. Its been so warm lately .... It feels like spring~

Well I do hope we do get some snow soon... for people will really be complaining come this spring.

Work has been steady and I can't complain... only I do know that I'm ready to be with Arthur in Happy Camp... 8 more mos... that is the plan I'm excited ... I will be going back down there this Feb. 1st to the 3rd... I miss my man...~smile~

Its almost Christmas~

I'm so Happy , this has to be my favorite time of year ~

I'm baking cookies and getting ready to send off cards and a few packages.

Kayla is home from school and all is well.~smile~

Only thing missing is Arthur...he will be staying home this year, it will be nice to say next Christmas , I will be there and we won't have to leave each other again... it will be 6 yrs of going back and forth and I'm so looking forward to not doing that anymore. I love you all hope all is good with you and your....

Happy Birthday to me~

Well I'm another year older 49 ... Wow where has time gone ? I drove down to Arthur's and picked up Kayla on the way on Monday 23rd of November . Kayla and I had a nice quiet day on my B-Day the 24th. Then on Wednesday I cooked our Turkey Dinner , it turned out really nice and I made it all Gluten Free... Good job Didi.

Thursday Turkey day I drove home, it was a good day to drive, no one was on the road. I made it home in good time....

I must say I'm really looking forward to a day when I don't have to come back to Bend and just stay there in Happy Camp ~

Aaden's B-day

Wow Four years can go by so fast. Look how grown up he is~

Arthur and I had a nice family B-day Bar-B-Que for him and it was all Sponge Bob. We had Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and a Sponge Bob Cake.

Ohhhh and don't forget Transformers and The Lincoln Logs. He was a Happy Lttle Man, and it was nice to have everyone there. Arthur was here , Kayla and Andrew , Cinder and Harry and of Course Robyn and Isaiah and a little friend of his that lives by him.

Wow...The road this life takes ~

Sorry it has taken so long to update my blog... Life has just been busy lately. Kayla is getting ready to go off to College, so we have been shopping and looking for things to go in her dorm room. Wow... I'm really going to be an empty nester...hehehe.... I don't know if I'm happy or just a little sad. Its going to be Quiet around here.

Aaden is going to be having his 4th B-day this Sunday 2nd of August. I will be making him a cake and giving him a little family party. Arthur will be up for a few days this Saturday, so its going to be nice. I just wish it wasn't so hot... well I will post some photo's of Kayla's graduation and with her new boyfriend Andrew... I'm so proud... She did good and will be going to Southern Oregon University. She will start this 28th of September move's into her dormroom on the 23 of September. Its going to be here before we know it... well I will write more later after Aaden's B-day... love you all

Off a Quilting I will go ~

Well I finally have 3 days off in a row and its been awhile, I would of liked to of gone to Arthur's but the threat of snow this Tuesday has given me a change of heart. I really do hate driving in that stuff and if I don't have to,I do think I won't...~smile~

I will try and go to Arthur's in two weeks. I will have 4 days off that week and do believe I will enjoy my visit more.

So I have joined a block of the month club and we are doing a Victory Quilt and I have to have my blocks finished by next week. So you will know where to find me
